Teaching Elementary Hebrew at MCTS

Last week I taught the first of four module sessions (a “quadular”) on Elementary Hebrew I as an adjunct professor of Midwest Center for Theological Studies. Six of the seven students live in the vicinity of Owensboro, Kentucky, home to MCTS. One student is taking the course in a distance-learning format via live-streaming. The new classroom facilities at MCTS are high-tech and comfortable, enhancing the teaching-learning experience for the professor and student. MCTS also has a small library (which they’re currently expanding) and study hall for the students. Moreover, Eddie Goodwin serves as the registrar and together with his wife, Donna, is overseeing much of the logistics of the seminary training. I’m grateful to the board of MCTS for the privilege to teach for their institution and to promote a tighter working relationship between our institutions. It’s also a joy to spend time with my former mentor Dr. Sam Waldron, my colleague Richard Barcellos, and mi compañero Keith Maddy. I should also highlight the blessing of becoming better acquainted with Jonathan Christman (son of Pastor Ted) who serves as Pastoral Assistant at Heritage Baptist Church and who has a great passion to serve in Christ’s vineyard. I look foward to three more weeks this year, as well as another quadular in the spring for Elementary Hebrew II.
